Should Corporate Policies Be Heart-Centered?

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your workplace’s respect and sexual harassment prevention policy? For too many workplaces, it’s a long document, filed away, that only gets pulled out when an issue of harassment, violence, or discrimination occurs. But we should be thinking about these policies differently.

We could think of them as more than a box-ticking exercise or legal requirement. Instead, there’s an opportunity to approach training around workplace violence, sexual harassment and discrimination as more than a compliance issue to a heart-centered issue to transform attitudes and behaviours.
